Scenes from an Italian restaurant

I took these happy shots at dinner the other day in a local Italian restaurant. Yep, it's the Pope. It's the Pope in a glass case. It's the Pope in a glass case on a huge round table that seats 15 in an alcove known as the Pope Room. This doesn't really do a lot for my appetite...

The view directly above our booth:

The view in the ladies room stall (yes, even the stall was cool). Damn, this guy is SERIOUSLY in demand.

Within A Two Block Radius

All of these photos were taken within a 2-block radius in downtown Fremont; not surprising considering the unofficial motto of this Seattle neighborhood is De Libertas Quirkas...Free To Be Peculiar...

I've done my share of repurposing, but it never occurred to me to use spent bullets as tiny flower vases on a VW PeaceMobile:

Check out the way cool glass art wedged in between the fans. Whatever this place is, I'm thinking it's HOT and some very creative types work or live there...

Blue like the ocean

Close-ups from a series of ceramic public art pieces adorning a King County Library intermingled with painted rocks from my garden, the base of a suburban streetlight and a yaba I found:

Connie's Hardboiled Egg

Yesterday I was at Beth's house getting organized for this year's Art Party (yes, we are ALREADY at work on it!) While sifting through a collection of old sheet music, this little slip of paper fell on the floor.

It's one of those random mysteries that has absolutely no ready explanation. Who wrote it? What was the author's relationship to Connie? Why were hard boiled eggs being distributed? Did Connie get her egg that day? Did Connie even LIKE hard boiled eggs? Why was this note in a book of sheet music?

Urban Relief Efforts

More eye candy found tucked away in an alley in Fremont. That's right...an alley. Public art so abundant that it adorns the alleys of this part of town...
.

I like this artsy "Whooooaaa, that puppy is tall!" shot the best, even if I DO feel vaguely voyeuristic (ahem).
